Bad Reputation for Intelius

February 9th, 2010

Clean reputation will affect your business, especially if your company provides service for customers. You surely know that most customers choose a company based on its reputation. If they hear bad news about your company, they will not come to your company and use your service anymore. Eventually, you may lose your business and have to close your company. Therefore, you have to make sure that you have given the best service for each one of your customers. If they are satisfied with your service, they will spread the new and bring more customers to your company.

Business does not seem to go well for Intelius. This company provides personal information that is taken from public records. It also gets the information from marketing database. We can use this company to search people because this database also provides information on addresses from phone numbers. Everyone can easily log on to the website to use this people search service. We also get small charge on this service, which we can pay through our credit card. However, Intelius has violated the law by forwarding information on customers’ credit card number to other companies. Seattleweekly.com can show the big problem to us. Customers do not even know about it until they receive the charges. Suddenly, they find weird charges on their bill. They only get information that they signed up to these companies from Intelius, while they never make any registration or application to these companies. It is a strong proof that Intelius has violated their privacy. It has taken personal information of their credit card number and then sends it to other companies, so they can charge customers on services that they never take.

While business seems to be difficult for Intelius with all complaints and legal charges to CEO Naveen Jain, the bad news does not seem to end. Intelius cofounder and EVP, John Arnold was recently arrested for lying to grand jury. This case is actually a different case on Colacurcio’s strip club. While trying to close a strip club, which is owned by Frank Culacurcio Sr., police found John Arnold was related to this club. He had been released from all charges by making statement in front of the grand jury that he never has any sex acts with the dancers from Colacurcio’s strip club. Later, he was found guilty for sending letter to one of dancers from this strip club. It is surely difficult for him to escape from this charge. It is definitely difficult for Intelius to get clean reputation with both of its CEO and cofounders are arrested.
